Things got a wee bit out of hand

The party started at about 4:00pm yesterday and didn't end until 9:00pm today, when we finally had to tell people to leave.

We had a great time.

I just hope I won't end up like this

We're throwing a keg party this weekend. The forecast is for sun, temps in the mid to upper 80s, and low humidity. That's perfect weather for volleyball and horseshoes, beer on tap, and burgers and brats on the grill.

I haven't been to a keg party since my early years in grad school.

We had a nice visit with my folks. Among other things, we finally got around to exchanging birthday gifts for the year.

My mother gave me this book because the face on the cover reminds her of adolescent me.

The sad truth is, this is exactly how I looked at 14.

Cowgirl up

Friday night I discovered just how serious my wife's weakness for cowgirls is.

She took me to my first-ever rodeo. And she bought me my first-ever cowgirl hat. And she drooled at me in that hat.

There was only one small problem. Even with the hat, she couldn't keep her eyes on me.


Court: Look. She's wearing a dress AND boots.
Me: I see.
Court: [drooling] She's so hot!
Me: Oh yes, she is hot. I love her dress.
Court: OMG she's so hot.
Me: I get it. Tonight when we kiss it's not me you'll be thinking about, eh?
Court: Hey, if it's good for you, will it really matter?
Me: I reckon not.

That's the kid's 100% take of loose change recovered while cleaning Court's car. Cleaning up our cars is no minor undertaking.

The boy channels his energy productively, I can say that.

The six of us spent the day at the waterpark yesterday. We had so much fun, but we got completely baked.

Today is a workday for me. I have some models due Monday, and they are giving me fits.
