You know you're a redneck when...
...you bring your wife and daughter home for a nice dinner with your parents, and, upon arrival, find your big brother [who never left the nest] at the table cutting up a deer.

She must have skipped that chapter
I've been taking a real razzing all week from Court.
She's razzing me because I called my mother to make a meal request.
I asked for turkey & waffles.
Go ahead. Make a funny face. It's a Pennsylvania Dutch dish. And it's delicious.
Court thinks it's gross. And apparently so does everyone else, judging from the sympathy she's getting for having to endure turkey & waffles with the in-laws this weekend.
It's just as I'd expect; she hangs out with a bunch of academic snobs. She (and they) don't get it. Turkey & waffles is delicious.
I love turkey & waffles. And I haven't had it since I left home. Court just rolls her eyes whenever I mention turkey & waffles.
Interestingly, she never puts turkey & waffles on the meal plan. EVER. A good wife would serve it up at least once, if not twice, in the time we've been together. It's her duty. Right? Work with me here.
As luck would have it, my mother is delighted to host us for a meal of turkey & waffles. We're driving up tomorrow, and will arrive just in time for dinner at six.
I am going to eat until I explode.
